Miller County Prosecutor Named “Prosecutor of the Year”
Miller County Prosecuting Attorney Matt Howard was presented the Prosecutor of the Year Award by the Professional Fire and Fraud Investigators Association on September 16, 2008.
The award was presented Association President Russ Mason at the 41st Annual Fire and Fraud Investigators Professional Development Symposium in Springfield.
Nominations for the award are made by members of the Association in recognition of a prosecutor’s efforts and diligence in the prosecution of arson and allied crimes.
Mr. Howard was nominated for the award for his work in the prosecution of a Miller County woman charged with murder, first-degree arson, and three counts of felony child endangerment. Christina White is accused of setting her six-month-old son, Wayne Anderson Jr., on fire July 11, 2007. Baby Wayne died of his injuries July 31, 2007.
