The Professional Fire and Fraud Investigators Association P.F.F.I.A. has approximately 400 active members throughout Missouri and surrounding states. These investigators represent the fire service, law enforcement, and private industry. The Association's primary activities involve providing professional and continuing training for investigators as well as basic arson recognition training for emergency responders to fires and explosions. Additionally, P.F.F.I.A. strives to provide a means for communication and to exchange information between investigators and investigative agencies. The Association's primary activities involve fire and fraud investigator training. Each year P.F.F.I.A. hosts a statewide conference to provide continuing education for investigators. Hours from this conference can be applied for re-certification to those investigators certified by the Missouri Division of Fire Safety. The Association also contracts with the Division of Fire Safety to provide the state's 40-hour Fire Investigator Course required for eligibility to take the state's Fire Investigator Certification test. |
